Trippe At “Run The Reservation”

The J. R. Trippe Middle School cross country teams continue to shine bright early in the 2023 season with fantastic results at the Run the Reservation meet in Eastman, GA, on Thursday, August 31. Running against 8 teams and 52 total athletes, the JRT Lady Chiefs came in 2nd overall with an average time of 19:40 scoring 59 points. Coming in 11th overall for the girls was Ella Allen with her first race time of 18:01. Cannon Sharpton placed 13th overall, with a time of 18:09, and in 16th place overall was Gabrielle Barton running a 19:14 for her first race.

The JRT Chiefs competed against 8 teams and 48 total athletes, finishing 2nd overall with an average time of 16:47 and scoring 53 points. With an outstanding 1st place finish, Wyatt Vassey ran a time of 13:32. Coming in 13th place was Kartel Lane with a time of 16:58. Teagan Guin finished 17th overall with a time of 17:25 and Aiden Thompson scored 19th with a time of 17:58. Fisher Mobley placed 20th overall with a time of 17:59.

'This team, both boys and girls, continue to prove each week that they are committed to excellence,' said JRT Head Coach, Joanna Humphrey. 'They are showing improvement day after day and week after week of intense practice in the heat to increase endurance and speed.'

Both teams will compete again on Thursday, September 14, at Jeff Davis Middle School at the Southern GA Championships.
