Mt. Vernon Garden Club Tours Onion Museum

As has been the custom of the Mt. Vernon Garden Club, there was no formal meeting in May. Instead, members usually travel out of town to do something different, which is what occurred on May 12, as the Club toured the Vidalia Onion Museum.

On Tuesday, May 12, members met at the Steeplechase Restaurant in Vidalia to enjoy lunch together and fellowship. Following lunch, some of the members toured the Vidalia Onion Museum, which is filled with many educational exhibits. These exhibits highlight the economic and cultural effect the Vidalia onion has on Vidalia and the surrounding area. It was a very rewarding experience.

There will be no meeting of the garden club during the summer months. The next meeting will be in September. Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer.

LUNCH OUTING – Mt. Vernon Garden Club members enjoyed a special lunch outing at Steeplechase in Vidalia on May 12 instead of their normal monthly meeting.
