mrandolphadvance@gmail.com

The Lyons Welcome Center is continuing to provide limited library resources for patrons while the Nelle Brown Memorial Library is under construction for an extensive renovation, as the calendar of library events for the month was recently released. The Nelle Brown Memorial Library officially closed its doors to the public in January, as the library undergoes revitalization to improve the technology and facility. In the meantime, the Lyons Welcome Center, located at 124 NW Broad Street, has become stocked with computers and a small selection of books to continue to serve the public from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

In addition to this, the library and Welcome Center are partnering to offer a few story time and book club events throughout the month.

On Tuesday, March 10, children can enjoy story time led by Memorial Health Meadows Hospital CEO Wesley Taylor. This event will be held at the Lyons City Hall, located at 161 NE Broad Street.

On Thursday, March 12, the Twists and Turns Adult Book Club will meet at the Welcome Center.

On Monday, March 16, and March 30, the library will host an Adult Read Aloud event at 11 a.m. at the Octagon House at Partin Park, located at 109 Miot Street in Lyons.

On Tuesday, March 24, and March 31, children can enjoy story time at the Welcome Center at 2 p.m.
