Vidalia Lions Club Invests in Library Programs

The Vidalia Lions Club recently invested in the Dr. Mark and Tonya Spivey Public Library programs through a donation to ensure that kids are able to continue to enjoy the numerous activities and events that the library has to offer.
This past June, the Dr. Mark & Tonya Spivey Public Library was packed with smiles, laughter, and a staggering 2,500 people attending summer programs at the library and the performances at Southeastern Technical College. In an effort to continue this momentum, Vidalia Lions Club President Garrett Wilcox presented a check for $5,000 to Ohoopee Regional Library System Director Cameron Asbell to continue to fund children’s programming.
'We are so incredibly grateful for the Lions Club and their heart for our community's children,' Asbell emphasized. “Seeing 2,500 people come together to learn and play this June was beautiful, but we simply cannot host these free events without local partnerships. We truly could not do it without you.'
The library is located at 610 Jackson Street in Vidalia, and is open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. For more information on the library’s scheduled programming, visit the Ohoopee Regional Library System website or call (912) 537-9283.
