Vidalia Shooting Claims One Life

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is probing the death of one man who lost his life in a shooting that broke out in Vidalia in the early morning hours of Independence Day.

At around 3:13 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, Vidalia Police Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East Jenkins Street in Vidalia, as it was

reported that gunshots had been fired. Upon arrival, officers found Rashad Lamar Lumpkin, 36, of Atlanta, lying in the road and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Lumpkin was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but was pronounced dead upon reaching the facility.
