GBI Investigates Shooting in Wheeler County

The GBI is investigating an incident in Glenwood on Saturday, October 21, that resulted in injuries to two persons.

A preliminary probe indicates the Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office responded to Clarks Bluff Road at about 5:15 p.m. in reference to a domestic incident that ended in a shooting. At about 6:30 p.m., the Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI to investigate.

The investigation has revealed that a domestic dispute occurred between two brothers, one from Florida and the other one from Georgia. During the dispute, one brother was shot, and the other brother was injured. They both required medical treatment. The GBI has not released the names of the victims.

No arrests have been made at this time.

The investigation is active and ongoing. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be turned over to the Oconee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review.
