Edna Claire Krueger Browning, 76, of Alamo, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023, at her home after an extended illness. She was born in McRae, GA, on February 25, 1947, to the late William Fred and Edna Rogers Krueger. Mrs. Browning was a member of the Alamo Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She worked for more than thirty-four years as a nurse and retired as the county nurse from Wheeler County Health Department, where she lovingly cared for her community. Mrs. Browning enjoyed reading and cooking but especially loved watching and cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs. Her greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother and spending time with her family and friends. She will always be remembered for the kindness and love she showed to all those she knew and loved.

Mrs. Browning is survived by her husband: Bobby Browning; three daughters: Cindy Bowen (James), Leslie Bunnell (Josh), and Allison Page (Jason); three grandchildren: Tyler Bowen (Ginny), Lindsey Bowen, and Noah Page; and two greatgrandchildren: William Bowen and Cora Claire Bowen. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: William Rogers “Butch” Krueger.

The Browning family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the wonderful caregivers: Faye Clark, Gay Scott, Mariah Woodard, April Gillis, Ingrid Tukes, Home Instead Hospice, Community Hospice of Vidalia, and Georgia Hospice Care.

Visitation for Mrs. Browning was Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Towns Funeral Home from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Funeral services were held 10 A.M. Monday, August 21, 2023, at Alamo Methodist Church with Rev. Andy Brownley and Rev. Amy Carter. Interment followed in the Alamo City Cemetery. Flowers are appreciated, or donations can be made to the Alamo Methodist Church or the Alamo Cemetery Fund.
