RTCA Splits Opening Week

The Crusaders baseball team of Robert Toombs Christian Academy took on Gatewood Academy and Trinity Christian last week. RTCA fell to the Gators of Gatewood but bounced back with a win over Trinity. vs. Gatewood

The Gators jumped ahead with three runs in the top of the first inning. They added two more in the third and then two in the fourth to take a 7-0 lead over RTCA.

The Gators scored their final run in the sixth inning on the way to an 8-0 win.

RTCA was led at the plate by Cayden Nance with two hits. vs. Trinity

RTCA scored all seven of their runs in one inning on the way to a win over Trinity. In the top of the third inning RTCA broke the scoreless game open with seven runs. Trinity scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, but that was all they could muster as RTCA won the game 7-2.

Dawson Pinkard and Gage Brantley each drove in two runs, with Nance and Tripp Durden adding one RBI a piece.

This week RTCA hosted Citizens Christian on Monday and was at Edmund Burke on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Saturday at home against Brentwood Academy at 11:00 a.m.
