Lady Indians Take 1st Round

The Vidalia High School Lady Indians tennis team competed in the first round of the State Playoffs at the Fleming Tennis Center in Augustalast week. The Lady Indians defeated Richmond County Technical Career Magnet School Thursday afternoon 3-1 to advance to the next round.

At 1st doubles, Jesslyn Collins and Kailyn Walker won 6-0, 6-1. At 2nd doubles, Emma Beck and Abby Brantley also won convincingly, 6-0, 6-0. At 3rd singles, Bess Wilcox secured the team's victory when she won handily, 6-2, 6-0.

The Lady Indians faced Pace Academy out of Atlanta this week. The match was on Tuesday after presstime at Pace Academy. VHS will need to win that to keep their season alive.
