Eagles Pick Up 2 Wins

The Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles baseball team picked up wins on Thursday and Friday of last week over The Habersham School and Trinity Christian Academy. The Eagles have wrapped up the Region Championship and are now looking toward the playoffs.

Vs. Habersham

The Eagles pounded out 14 hits in the game as they rolled to an easy win over Habersham on Thursday. VHA got things going in the top of the first inning with six runs to jump out to an early lead. They added three more in the second and then eight in the third to push their lead to 17-0.

Habersham did score two runs in the bottom of the third inning, but it was not enough as Heritage took the win by the run rule, 17-2. Ledger Curl led the way for VHA with three RBI’s, and Jackson Franklin added two RBI’s for the Eagles. Mason Beacham got the win on the mound.

Vs. Trinity

It was another run rule win for the Eagles as they took on Trinity on Friday in Dublin. The Eagles plated one run in the top of the first inning, but Trinity tied the game in the bottom half with a run of their own.

In the top of the second inning the Eagles added three runs, and then four more in the third inning to take an 8-1 lead. They put five more on the board in the fourth inning on the way to a 13-1 win.

Hardy Franklin and JT Cofield each had two RBI’s for Heritage.

This week the Eagles hosted Griffin Christian on Monday after presstime in the final regular season game of the year. They will then prepare for the GAPPS State Tournament.
