VHS Splits With Tigers

The Vidalia High School soccer teams faced off with the Tigers of Swainsboro last week on Tuesday at home.

Girls

In the girls contest the Lady Tigers scored four goals in the game. The depleted Lady Indians were not able to score in the game as they fell 4-0.

Boys

In the boys game the Indians ran away with the win. VHS scored nine goals in the first half of the game to lead 9-1 at halftime. In the second half they added two more goals to win 11-1 over the Tigers.

Tim Corbin had a hat trick with 3 goals. Konner Owens scored 2 goals and added 3 assists. Clayton Cox had a goal and 3 assists. Tate McDaniel scored 1 goal, Daniel Hodges added a goal, and Charles Gillenwater scored 1 goal. Guage Martin, Dhruvil Patel, and Zach Moye all had an assist.

The Lady Indians are 5-7 on the year and 3-4 in the Region, and the boys are 6-7 on the year and 4-3 in Region play. This week VHS was at Toombs County on Tuesday after presstime and will be back in action on Friday at Jeff Davis with the first game at 5:00 p.m.
