Mr. Kenny O. Phillips

Mr. Kenny O. Phillips, age 76, of Vidalia, who was affectionately known as the “breadman”, died Friday, March 18, 2022, at his home after a sudden illness. He was a lifelong resident of Toombs County; he retired after forty years as regional manager of Derst Baking Company, and attended Calvary on Aimwell. Preceding him in death was his wife, Myrtle Lee Smith Phillips; daughter, Sandy Roberts, parents, Buford Phillips and Eudell Stewart Phillips; and sister, Sara Phillips. His family includes 2 children, Kim Phillips and Buddy Holmes, both of Vidalia; 7 grandchildren, Rusty Morris and wife Amanda of Higgston, Allena McCoy of Vidalia, Chris Roberts and wife Donna Rae of Senoia, Selena Ogrodoski of Waycross, Joe Holmes, Zach Holmes, and Katie Holmes, all of Vidalia, 7 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Gerry Phillips and wife Lisa of Vidalia, Perry Phillips and wife Ginger of Chatsworth, and Larry Phillips and wife Cynthia of Hudson, Florida; one sister, Diane Phillips and wife Tina of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was Sunday, March 20, at 3:00 p.m. at the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Efton Green officiating. Burial followed at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Brian McCoy, David Hardee, Jeff Lockley, Scott Siman, Harley Strickland, Woody Fowler, and Jason Holmes.
