RTCA Runs At Bulloch

Robert Toombs Christian Academy competed in their first track meet at Bulloch Academy on Wednesday, March 2. Both teams performed well for their first meet with several first place finishes individually. Overall, the Lady Crusaders and Crusaders finished 3rd.

Head Track Coach Jacob Wilkinson stated, 'I feel after both teams competed on Wednesday. We have two very strong teams that could be in the running for a State Championship in April. As long as everyone stays healthy, I feel good about our chances. We are still a very young team, but we do have a few senior leaders on both teams who have won state in the past that I know will step up and encourage their teammates.'

Girls

Kylie Acosta took 1st in the 100m dash, and she was 4th in the triple jump and 5th in the high jump. Railee Thomas was 2nd in the shot put, 4th in the discus. Mary Claire Wolfe was 2nd in the 100 hurdles and in the 300 hurdles. Maddy Joyner finished in 3rd in the shot put. Nicole Acosta took 3rd in the 100 hurdles, and she was 8th in the high jump. Ellie Graham was 3rd in the 200m and was 5th in the 100m. Ariel Gooden took 4th in the 400m. Bree Wimberly was 5th in the long jump and 5th in the 800m. Rachel Threlkeld was 5th in the 300m hurdles, and Madeline Wolfe was 8th in the 400m.

Boys

Jashaun Powell took 1st place in the long jump and in the triple jump. Aaron Hankerson was 1st in the 100m, 1st in the 200m, and was 3rd in the high jump. MK McBride finished in 1st place in the high jump. Tyler Buggs was 2nd in the shot put. Drew Vaughn took 2nd in the 800m and was 3rd in he 1,600m run. Jackson Newton finished 3rd in the 200m and was 5th in the 100m. Easton Drew was 4th in the 1,600m and the 800m. Gage Brantley was 4th in the discus and was 8th in the shot put. TJ Stanley was 4th in the 400m. And Justin Powell was 8th in the long jump.

Relays

The boys 4x100m relay team of Newton, Powell, Stanley, and Hankerson took 1st place. The team of Powell, Toole, Tuck, and Ennis was 5th. For the girls the team of Graham, Acosta, Wolfe and Acosta finished in 2nd place, and the team of Dismuke, Threlkeld, Gooden, and Thomas was 3rd. The 4x400m boys team of Hankerson, Stanley, Tuck and Powell came in 2nd place. The team of Powell, Toole, Newton, and Drew was 5th. The girls team of Acosta, Acosta, Gooden, and Graham was 2nd; and the team of Dismuke, Threlkeld, Wolfe, and Wimberly came in 6th.
