Mrs. Myrle Morris Wiggins Sowell

Mrs. Myrle Morris Wiggins Sowell of Vidalia, died Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at her home after a sudden illness. She was a native of Toombs County and lived in Vidalia most of her life where she worked as a clerk at Davis Drugs, Estroff’s Department Store and Gay Jewelers. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined with other believers at First Baptist Church of Vidalia where she was also a member of the Caring and Sharing Sunday School class; she served as greeter, and led the senior ladies in exercise class. She was also a former member or volunteered for the PTA, Band Boosters, Pink Ladies, Candy Stripers Director, American Red Cross, Hospice Volunteer Ministry, and Women’s Missionary Union. She ministered to senior adults, as well as teaching and hosting Bible studies in her home. She loved God and she loved people. She is preceded in death by two husbands, John Lewis Wiggins and Pierce Sowell; her parents, Cleveland Morris and Minnie Smith Morris; three sons, Jon Keith Wiggins, Harrell L. Wiggins, Sr. and Julius Taryl Wiggins; one sister, Laverne M. Gay; and one brother, Theron Morris.

Her family includes one stepson, David Sowell of Swainsboro; one brother, Hugh Vernon Morris and wife Joyce of Port Wentworth; one sister, Meredith Partin of Johnson Corner; two sisters-inlaw, Latha Morris and Mae Sowell; four grandchildren, Harrell Wiggins, Jr. of South Carolina, Daniel Wiggins and wife Wendy of Macon, Ashley Wiggins of Marietta, Wendy Wiggins of Reidsville; two great-grandchildren, Peter Jon Wiggins and Finn Lewis Wiggins of Macon; special friends, Randy and Gina Sumner of Marietta and Gerald and Judy Solie of Lyons; and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews and long-time friends.

The funeral service was Friday morning, February 18 at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Melvin Kramer and Pastor Scott Morrison officiating. Burial followed at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
