Mr. Walter L. Jeffcoat

Mr. Walter L. Jeffcoat, age 78, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after an extended illness.

Born in Jasper, TN, Mr. Jeffcoat was raised in Orangeburg, SC, and was a 1961 graduate of Orangeburg High School. He moved to Vidalia in 1975 and retired from Thomas & Betts, after more than thirty years. He designed twelve company owned patents. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons, and he enjoyed woodworking. Preceding him in death are his parents, Walter Lee Jeffcoat, Jr. and Nancy Lee Tate Jeffcoat; brother, Steven Jeffcoat; and sister, Paula Jeffcoat Tabacchi.

His family includes his wife of fifty-eight years, Judy Strickland Jeffcoat; one son, Bradley Jeffcoat and wife Carol, all of Vidalia; one daughter, Kristen Jeffcoat Gibbs and husband Jamie of Salisbury, NC; four grandchildren, Hunter Jeffcoat of Vidalia, Ava Gibbs of Salisbury, Zach Stephens and wife Kelsey of Lyons, and Dawson Gibbs of Vidalia; and several nieces and nephews.
