Mr. Billy Reese

Mr. Billy “Georgia Swamper” Reese, age 66, of Glenwood, died on Monday, June 28, 2021, at his home after an extended illness.

Mr. Reese was born at Ft. Gordon, GA, and moved to Lyons as a child, where he lived until moving to Wheeler County 25 years ago. He was a truck driver, was self-employed, and worked with Canoochee Transport for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil Junior Reese and Essie Dee Miller Reese Brown, and his brother, Ricky Reese.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Shirley Reese; 1 daughter, Christy Reese-Little and husband Brendon of Marysville, WA; 3 stepchildren, Robert E. White, Jr., and wife Candace, Stephanie White of Auburn, GA, and Amanda White Ruzansky and husband Daniel of Middleton, PA; 1 sister, Debra Reese Fields and husband Wendell of Lyons; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home, with Pastor Andy Williams officiating. Burial followed in Tarrytown City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Shannon Fields, J.R. Fields, Ronnie Jarriel and Jimmy Woods. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or by visiting their website at stjude.org.
