SSAC Recognizes BPC Soccer

The Brewton-Parker women’s soccer program was recognized in the 2020-21 Southern States Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Season Recap, the SSAC released on Thursday afternoon.

The season recap looks back to highlights from the 2020-21 season, which includes two historic moments for the Barons. The first highlight was Kadisha Martina’s historic First-Team All- SSAC selection. Martin garnered the program’s first selection to the first-team since Melissa Brown and Gennette LaPlante back in 2000. Last season, Martina bagged nine goals and assisted four while playing in 13 of the 19 matches.

Martina’s offensive threat assisted in the Baron’s historic postseason win over Mobile (Ala.). Brewton-Parker captured the program’s first postseason win since 1999 with the 3-2 victory over the Rams in the SSAC Tournament Quarterfinals. In the match, Jaryn Paley tallied two goals while Katelyn Ladner notched one.

Last season, Brewton- Parker earned seven SSAC Barnes & Noble College All-Academic Team selections, four SSAC player of the week honors, one First-Team All-SSAC honor, one Second-Team All-SSAC honor, two SSAC All-Freshman Team selections, and a Champions of Character Team honor. The Barons finished the season 9-9-1 and 2-4 against conference opponents.
