Heritage Eagles With 3 Wins Heritage Eagles With 3 Wins

vs. Georgia

7-6. The Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles baseball team played three games last week and got wins in all three of them. The Eagles faced Georgia Christian at home on Tuesday, played Chess Academy on Thursday and then wrapped up the week against Highland Christian.

In the bottom of the third inning of a scoreless game the Eagles loaded the bases on an error on a ball hit by Mason Beacham. A walk to Ethan Sikes brought in the first run of the game, and then a sacrifice fly by Hardy Franklin made it 2-0. Another walk, this time to Greer Posey loaded the bases back up. Jackson Williamson was hit by a pitch to make it 3-0 and a wild pitch made it 4-0. Another error made it 5-0, and the Eagles picked up one more run for a 6-0 lead heading to the fourth inning. In the top of the fourth inning Georgia Christian scored a run, but the Eagles put eight more on the board in the bottom of the fourth to win the game by the run rule, 14-1. JT Cofield led the way with 4 RBI's for VHA, and Beacham picked up the win on the mound.

vs. Chess

It was another big win for the Eagles on Thursday as they rolled over Chess Academy. The third inning again was a big one as VHA scored eight runs in the inning and then six more in the fourth to win the game by the run rule, 14-0. Ledger Curl had 3 RBI's to lead the way with Cofield getting the win for the Eagles along with adding 3 hits.

vs. Highland

In the top of the first inning on Friday Highland got on the board first with two runs, but the Eagles answered in the bottom half of the frame with five runs to take a 5-2 lead. VHA added six more runs in the fourth inning, and capped off the game with one in the fifth to win by the run rule, 12-2.

Curl picked up 3 RBI's in the game and 4 hits.

Heritage was scheduled to play Citizens Christian on Monday of this week after presstime. They will host Memorial Day on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
