Heritage Splits Games

The Eagles of Vidalia Heritage Academy played two baseball games last week and split those contests. VHA rolled over Georgia Christian on Tuesday and then lost a close game to Griffin Christian on Thursday.

vs. Georgia

Ledger Curl had a big game with four RBI's for the Eagles to lead the way at the plate with Mason Beacham throwing the complete game with 13 strikeouts for the win.

Georgia took the early lead with a run in the bottom of the first inning, but the Eagles broke the game open in the top of the third inning as they plated seven runs to jump out to a 7-1 lead.

VHA added four more in the top of the seventh inning to secure the win, 11-1.

vs. Griffin

On Thursday at Griffin the Eagles fell behind in the first inning as Griffin scored one run, but VHA answered in the top of the second and tied the game at 1-1. Heritage took the lead in the third inning with a run, but Griffin bounced back in the bottom half off the frame with two runs to go ahead, 3-2 over VHA.

Griffin added four more runs in the sixth inning to push their lead to 7-2. The Eagles battled in the top of the seventh inning and managed to score four runs, but with that they fell just short, losing the game 7-6.
