VHS Indians Keep Rolling
Vidalia High School's baseball team hosted their Paul Thigpen Diamond Weekend last weekend and in the process took on Callaway out of Hogansville and Heard County, winning both games. The Indians are currently ranked #2 in the state behind on Lovett.
vs. Callaway
Callaway is the #4 ranked team in AA, and the Indians got the big win over the Cavaliers. VHS took the win, 4-1 over Callaway.
Caden Spivey got the win in the circle as he went five innings, allowing just one run. Bryce Morley came in in the seventh inning with the bases loaded and struck out the side to close out the game. Bryson Whited led the way at the plate with two hits.
vs. Heard
Against the Braves of Heard County the Indians got a solid pitching performance from Whited as he went the distance allowing just three hits and no runs. The Indians scored three runs in the game with Landry Mead picking up two hits for VHS in the 3-0 win. The wins improve VHS's record to 8-2 on the year. This week Vidalia will host Metter on Wednesday at 5:45 p.m.
