Vikings Drop Two Games

The Treutlen County High School boys basketball team played two games as they wrapped up the regular season with some makeup Region games. They lost a game to Telfair County at home on Tuesday, won by forfeit over Wilcox County on Wednesday, and then fell to the Eagles of Montgomery County on Saturday in Mt. Vernon.

Boys vs. Telfair

Against the Trojans of Telfair, the Vikings took the early lead and were on top 9-3 at the end of the first as both teams' offenses struggled to get anything going. In the second the slow pace continued as Treutlen led 17-10 heading to halftime. In the third the Trojans outscored Treutlen 12-4 as they took the lead over the Vikings, 22-21 heading to the fourth. Telfair pulled away in the fourth period as they put 27 points on the board while Treutlen managed just 14. Telfair got the win, 49-35.

Boys vs. Montgomery

On Saturday the Eagles of Montgomery pulled away for a win over the Vikings in the final regular season game for both teams. MCHS got the win, 65-43, over Truetlen.

The Lady Vikings finished the season 4-13 overall, and were 3-9 in Region play. The boys team was 9-11 overall and were 7-9 in the Region.
