During their stay in the Sweet Onion City for the 49th Annual Vidalia Onion Festival, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels Pilots and Crew spent time speaking with local students, as they encouraged them to work hard and follow their dreams. On April 24, the Vidalia Onion Festival Committee invited groups of students from Vidalia City Schools and from Toombs County Schools Camp Bullpup and Camp Bulldog to attend the Blue Angels’ Air Show Practice, as they were able to get an up-close look at the squadron’s performance and meet several of the pilots and crew.

On the same day, Lieutenant Cam Schneider (pilot of Blue Angel Jet #2) and AD1 Avery Collins visited Montgomery County High School, where they encouraged students to pursue their dreams, never give up, and work to be a part of a team or something bigger than themselves. Lieutenant Schneider and AD1 Collins also answered questions from the students, as the men shared more information about what it takes to be a U.S. Navy Blue Angel.

Meanwhile, at Toombs County High School, Lieutenant Garrett Wiedle, AT1 Randallsons, and Recruiter Sergeant Derick Arellano spoke to students about teamwork, dedication, and pursing their goals. The men also answered questions from the students, as they gave a unique perspective on the squadron and life.
