Voting Underway Throughout Region

Voters are officially able to cast their ballots, as advanced voting kicked off last week.
Toombs County saw the highest number of voters in the area, as 569 citizens cast their ballot for the General Primary Election. Treutlen County saw the second-highest amount of voters, as 217 people went to their polls. A total of 132 voters cast their ballot in Montgomery County last week, while 106 Wheeler County citizens took to the polls to vote early.
Early Voting will be available on weekdays until Friday, May 15. Saturday voting is available on May 9. Early voting locations and schedules are: Montgomery Coun ty: From 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on designated Saturday voting days at the Montgomery County Government Annex, located at 251 S. Richardson St. in Mt. Vernon Toombs County: From 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on designated Saturday voting days at the Toombs County Courthouse, located at 100 Courthouse Square in Lyons Treutlen County: From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and designated Saturday voting days at the Treutlen County Government Annex, located at 650 Second Street in Soperton Wheeler County: From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and designated Saturday voting days at the Wheeler County Board of Elections Office, 16 W. Forest Avenue in Alamo Absentee ballots may be requested until Friday, May 8. All absentee ballots must be submitted by 7 p.m. on Election Day (May 19) to be counted.
