Burke Speaks to Four Rivers Patriots

The Four Rivers Patriots Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution held its monthly meeting on Thursday night, June 17, 2025, at Chatters Restaurant in Lyons at 7:00. With President Joel Keener presiding, there were 18 in attendance.
Dess Smith III introduced the speaker, Compatriot Steve Burke. Steve and his wife Renee live in Garfield, and he is a President of the Wiregrass Chapter in Swainsboro. He spoke about General Francis Merrion, the Swamp Fox of the Revolutionary War.
Besides the Four Rivers Patriots members present, also in attendance were Steve Burke’s wife Renee, Compatriot Dess Smith III, Compatriot John Derden, Compatriot Emory Fennell, Compatriot Bill Carmichael and Compatriot
Lee Herron.
