The Brewton-Parker Lady Barons kick off the 2025 fall sports season with the men's and women's cross-country teams taking center stage. The Lady Barons will compete in six invitationals, hosting one, for the 2025 season. The Lady Barons will kick off their season at the Julius Johnson Invitational on August 30th, hosted at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.
The Lady Barons competed last year and improved at every invitational. The Lady Barons then have two events to participate in during September, starting with the University of North Georgia Invitational on the 12th and then hosting the Brewton-Parker Christian University Invitational on the 26th. October sees the Lady Barons head to the University of South Carolina Beaufort for the Sand Shark Invitational on the 11th and then head to the NAIA App Challenge on the 24th. The Lady Barons will then head into the SSAC postseason meet on November 7th to compete for a conference title.
Catching up with Head Coach James Frank, he shared his thoughts on last season and his hopes for the upcoming season. 'Last year was tough. We lost approximately three weeks of training, and as a result, we were unable to attend our two biggest meets due to the hurricane. The effort was there, but circumstances made it difficult to reach our full potential. We have three women returning and three freshmen joining. The women's team will be much improved and grow from last season.'
The Lady Barons look to build on last season, with several key contributors from last season competing in Cross Country for the first time. The Lady Barons are returning Raashonda Khalil (sophomore) and Danaysia Roberts (junior) with high hopes of seeing both of them reach new PRs this season. The Coaching staff is excited about Lillie Brown, Reese Bryant, and Caryn Cummings, all of whom are exciting newcomers to watch this season. The Lady Barons kick off the season on August 30.
