The Lady Indians rebounded in a big way on Friday, kicking off the Highway 280 Invitational with a dominant 9-2 victory. The offense was led by Deidra Boston, who was a one-woman wrecking crew at the plate. She drove in four runs on two hits, showcasing her power with a home run to left field in the first inning and a single in the sixth, scoring two runs each time. Boston's first-inning home run put the Lady Indians on the board, and a single by Paisley Ledford in the bottom of the third extended the lead to 3- 1.

The Lady Raiders of West Laurens picked up a run in the top of the fifth inning, but VHS added two more in the bottom of the frame and then plated four more in the sixth on the way to the 9-2 victory.

Pitching for Vidalia, Tori Polke was lights out. She went the full seven innings, allowing only two hits and two runs (one earned). She was in control throughout the game, striking out five batters and walking four. vs. Harlem

The Lady Indians faced a tough test on Saturday morning, resulting in a narrow 3-1 defeat in a game that was a true pitcher's duel. Both teams were strong in the circle, keeping the offenses in check.

Harlem got on the board in the top of the first with a ground out, but Paisley Ledford quickly answered with a single in the bottom of the first to help Vidalia tie the game at 1-1. The score remained locked until the top of the seventh inning when an error broke the tie, and a single by Harlem extended their lead to 3- 1. vs. Charlton Co.

The Lady Indians finished the weekend on a high note with a commanding 16-1 victory. The offense exploded, and Deidra Boston was once again at the heart of the action, driving in seven runs on two hits. She hit a grand slam to right field in the second inning, scoring four runs, and doubled in the third, scoring two.

Charlton got on the board first with a run in the top of the first inning. But VHS answered in the bottom of the first when Tori Polke tripled down the left field lineto drive in a run, and a ground out by Deidra Boston scored a run, putting Vidalia in the lead, 2-1.

VHS extended that lead on the grand slam by Boston in the second inning. The Lady Indians' bats were relentless, tallying 10 hits in the game, including a massive 10run third inning that sealed the victory. During the third-inning rally, the scoring came from all directions: Tori Polke doubled, scoring two runs; Anastyn Blewett singled, scoring two; Samyri Dixon singled, scoring one; Aubrey Jones singled, scoring one; Elizabeth Sowell was struck by a pitch, driving in a run; and Tori Polke singled again, scoring another run.

This week Vidalia took on East Laurens on Monday, and then were at Toombs County on Tuesday, both after presstime. They will be back in action on Wednesday at Wayne County at 6:00 p.m., they will host St. Vincent's on Thursday at 6:00 p.m., and then will be at the Jeff Davis Diamond Day on Saturday with a game against Jeff Davis at 11:00 a.m. and one against ACE Charter at 5:30 p.m.
