YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR – 10 year-old Mia Powell, 11 year-old Aylen Mixon, and 6 year-old Kaidence Mixon learned the ropes of running their own business this summer, as they have operated a lemonade stand all summer that has even gained attention from Vidalia Mayor Doug Roper. SUPPORTIVE FAMILY – Retired Lyons Fire Chief Darel Corley’s family attended the Lyons City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 7, to support Corley as he was recognized for his service.
NEW K-9 UNIT – Thanks to donations from the community, the Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office now has a new K-9 Unit to help patrol the area, as K-9 Deputy Blue and Corporal Mark Murray recently graduated from the Narcotic Detection and Tracking certification program.
