This year’s Juneteenth Jubilee will feature numerous events, including a celebration, community yoga, a Lunch and Learn, and more in Downtown Lyons on Friday, June 19.

The day will kick off with a Pray in the Park event from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., where community members are invited to gather at the 304 Society Garden, located at the intersection of Washington Street and North East Broad Street, to unite in prayer. Immediately following the Pray in the Park, a free community yoga class will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., as attendees are encouraged to bring yoga mats or towels.

Community members can learn more about the city and county through a Lunch and Learn event from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., where these officials will be available to talk about projects and issues within the city and county. Food trucks will be selling their wares during this time so that all attendees may enjoy a meal while getting more informed about their community. The Annual Juneteenth Celebration will kick off at 4 p.m. and will last until 8 p.m. The event features food, vendors, and entertainment, as the community comes together to celebrate the holiday while also supporting culture, community, and family fun.

This Jubilee is designed to celebrate freedom, heritage, unity, and progress. For more information, visit the Juneteenth Jubilee Facebook page, or email toombsjuneteenth@gmail. com.
