MAKING PLANS — Toombs County Retired Educator Association, Area 5, held their planning meeting on June 14, 2024, for the 2024-2025 year. Those in attendance were (L-R) Edna Shurley, Mary Alice Wilder, Paula Jones, Marlene Tomlin, Rushing Stephens, Lucy Claroni, Judy Hart, Lisa Parker, and Donald Parker. Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at the Dr. Mark and Tonya Spivey Public Library (unless otherwise noted). BREAKING GROUND – The Southeastern Early College and Career Academy (SECCA) officially broke ground on their new $1.3 million expansion during a formal ceremony on Monday, May 11.
GIVING GAVELS – Montgomery County Probate Judge Stacie Randolph (left) gave Montgomery County Valedictorian Evan Hardeman (center) and Salutatorian Addyson Shepherd (right) gavels and a note written on a scroll, as she celebrated the students’ hard work.
