MCHS BETA FIRST IN THE NATION – At the Montgomery County Board of Education meeting on Monday, April 15, the Montgomery County High School BETA Club was recognized, as the Club is ranked first in the nation for the number of community service hours that have been logged. Montgomery County High School Senior Ashton Thigpen was also recognized for having the most community service hours logged for the entire club. INFORMING THE COMMUNITY – State Representatives Shaw Blackmon, Jaclyn Ford, Leo Chancey, and Leesa Hagan spoke to the community about rural development during an event on Thursday, June 18.
REMOVING A HAZARD – Because of the deterioration and damage of the old Montgomery County Middle School building, which is located behind the Montgomery County Board of Education, the structure will be demolished in the coming month.
OVER TWO DECADES OF SERVICE – Toombs County Commissioners recently thanked Motor Grader Operator Randy Rogers for dedicating over two decades of service to ensuring the County’s dirt roads were smooth.
