The Toombs County High School soccer teams were in action last week against Windsor Forest and Pierce County. The Lady Bulldogs won easily over Windsor but dropped their game to the Lady Bears, and the boys lost only their second game of the season as they fell to Windsor, but bounced back with a big win over Pierce Girls vs. Windsor

The Lady Bulldogs rolled to a mercy rule win over the Lady Knights. Toombs scored six goals in the first half of the game to hold a 6-0 lead at halftime. In the second half, they added four more goals to take the win, 10-0.

Emma Wright led the way with 4 goals on the night. Emerson Powell and Fenix Hooks each scored 2 goals, and Aubrey Gay and Josseline Zamorano added a goal each.

Boys vs. Windsor

The boys lost a tough match to the Knights on Tuesday. Windsor scored three goals in the game while allowing the Bulldogs just one score. That gave the Knights a 3-1 win over Toombs.

The Bulldogs got their lone goal on the night from Jose Leon off an assist by Tucker Brodnax.

Girls vs. Pierce

The girls played well, but dropped their match, 3-0, to the #1 team in the Region, Pierce County. This loss moves the girls' record to 7-3 in Region play, where they currently sit at #3 behind Pierce County and Savannah Arts.

Boys vs. Pierce

The boys' matchup featured the top two teams in the Region. Senior Yovanny Zomorano scored a goal in the 1st half, and that proved to be enough for the Bulldogs to pick up the key Region win.

The back line and keeper Tucker Brodnax turned in another strong performance to record their impressive 6th clean sheet of the season.

The boys are now 10-2 overall, and 8-2 in Region play. The 2 losses move them 1 game ahead of 3 teams who all have 3 losses.

Both girls and boys teams will be back in action this week. They traveled to Brantley County on Tuesday after presstime, and they will host Savannah Arts on Friday with the first game kicking off at 5:00 p.m.
