Indians Split With Windsor

The Vidalia High School basketball teams split with Windsor Forest last week in Savannah. The Lady Indians took a win over the Lady Knights, while the boys dropped their game to Windsor.

Girls vs. Windsor

In the girls' game against Windsor Forest, VHS jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter of the game. VHS was on top 18-8 at the end of the first quarter. They extended their lead slightly in the second, and were up 31-19 at halftime.

In the third quarter the Indians outscored Windsor, 15-4, as they pushed their lead to 46-23. The Lady Indians took the win from Windsor by the score of 55-35.

VHS was led by Hannah Nichols with 16 points, and Cristal Franklin added 10 in the win.

Boys vs. Windsor

In the boys' game against the Knights, Vidalia fell behind in the first quarter, 11-8, as they could not get their shots to fall. Windsor extended that lead in the second to 30– 17. In the third quarter the Indians kept pace, but were trailing 48-33 heading to the fourth quarter. Vidalia did close the lead down some, but the Indians fell to Windsor, 67-56.

The Lady Indians are 11-11 on the year and are 6-4 in the Region. The boys are 16-6 on the season, and are 7-3 in Region play. This is the final week of the regular season. VHS took on Tattnall County on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action for the final game of the season on Friday at Appling County at 6:00 p.m.
