ANIMAL COMMUNICATION — Miss Molle and Miss Ford's class at Wheeler County Elementary School learned about the different ways animals communicate. One animal that stuck out in their research process was bats. Students learned that bats have a unique form of communication called Echolocation. Students explored this process by pretending to be bats and 'echolocate' one another. To wrap up learning, each student created an informational writing piece titled, “I ‘Bat’ You Didn't Know...' The writing piece included several different facts about their new favorite animal.(L to R): Front: Ella Bell, Asher Poole, Back: Maite Martinez, DeShaun Green, and Cassie Selph. INFORMING THE COMMUNITY – State Representatives Shaw Blackmon, Jaclyn Ford, Leo Chancey, and Leesa Hagan spoke to the community about rural development during an event on Thursday, June 18.
REMOVING A HAZARD – Because of the deterioration and damage of the old Montgomery County Middle School building, which is located behind the Montgomery County Board of Education, the structure will be demolished in the coming month.
