A Laurens County company has been awarded the contract to design and construct spec building number 4 at the Toombs Corporate Center at U.S. Highway 1 in Lyons. Construction will be completed in early 2021.

The Toombs County Development Authority awarded the project to Dublin Construction Company at its regular monthly meeting on September 17.

“The Authority’s spec building program has been a very successful recruit- continued from page

ing tool for Toombs County,” says Chairman Harry Moses. “Economic developers realize that most companies considering a relocation or expansion project look for existing building space. We’ve got to maintain an inventory of available, publicly-owned industrial sites and facilities ready for occupancy in order to attract industrial prospects to consider Toombs County as a premier location for their project.”

TDA Executive Director Michele Johnson said plans call for the structure to be a 105,000 square foot shell building with a 30-foot clear ceiling height so it is flexible enough to be used for manufacturing or distribution. “It will certainly be an attractive site for any company interested in locating to our region, so I fully expect a positive impact on the Authority’s investment and job creation efforts.”
