SPEAK WHEN SPOKEN TO

SPEAK WHEN SPOKEN TO SPEAK WHEN SPOKEN TO

BY GARY TOOLE

You know I just got to thinking that some parents are so busy teaching their children the bible that they forget to teach them old fashion common courtesy, which is biblical. Ist Corinthians 15:33. We call it good manners like, “Speak when spoken to.” Amen! When I was a child, if I walked into a room and some grown ups spoke to me I knew I had better speak back or I would get a scolding and if I didn’t speak several times in a row, a good whipping came next and it didn’t matter how shy youwere. Andyes, wedo know and understand about these autistic children which is sad, but many mentally challenged children for the most part are just so loving and friendly. You don’t have to worry about speaking to them. They will speak to you first. We all know the facts and truths about all this stuff society focuseson. Butthereisno excuse for wholesome normal children, shy or not to not use good manners, etiquettes and just good old common courtesy, but that has to be taught from the start and must be insisted on. When I was a boy you spoke when spoken to out of courtesy for anyone, respect for your elders was a must and you spoke to save your hide as well. And as I said earlier the bible definitely teaches and backs up common courtesy. 1st Peter 3:8. Are you teaching this to your children? If not then start today! Can you say amen?
