The Lyons Welcome Center is continuing to provide limited library resources for patrons while the Nelle Brown Memorial Library is under construction for an extensive renovation, as the calendar of library events for the month was recently released. The Nelle Brown Memorial Library officially closed its doors to the public in January, as the library undergoes revitalization to improve the technology and facility. In the meantime, the Lyons Welcome Center, located at 124 NW Broad Street, has become stocked with computers and a small selection of books to continue to serve the public from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
In addition to this, the library and Welcome Center are partnering to offer a few story time and book club events throughout the month.
The Twists and Turns Book Club will meet at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 9.
Lyons City Manager Jason Hall will read to local children during a Story Time event at 3:30 p.m. at Lyons City Hall, located at 161 North East Broad Street.
An Adult Read Aloud event will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 20, at the Dream House, located at 109 Miot Street at Partin Park in Lyons.
Kids can enjoy Story Time at the Lyons Welcome Center at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, and Tuesday, April 28.
