Lady Vikings With 2 Wins
The Treutlen County High School Vikings soccer teams faced a busy week on the pitch, taking on the Wheeler County Bulldogs on Tuesday before matching up against the Dooly County Bobcats on Friday. The Lady Vikings secured a pair of hard-fought victories, while the boys' squad dropped both of their contests.
Girls vs. Wheeler Co.
On Tuesday, the Wheeler County Bulldogs were in town. The girls' matchup proved to be a grueling defensive battle with just one goal scored all evening. After a scoreless first half, Lady Viking Maya Brinson found the back of the net in the second half, providing the deciding factor and securing a 1-0 victory for Treutlen.
Boys vs. Wheeler Co.
In the boys' game, the Bulldogs successfully held off the Vikings to take a tight 4-3 win. Treutlen saw solid offensive production from Johnny Johnson and Nate Miller, who provided the goals in the effort.
Girls vs. Dooly Co.
Later in the week, the teams faced off against the Bobcats of Dooly County. The Lady Vikings came out strong, with Brinson scoring two crucial goals in the first half of the game. Dooly County managed to pick up a goal in the second half, but the Treutlen defense successfully held them off to seal a 2-1 win.
Boys vs. Dooly Co.
The boys' matchup was a much tougher outing against a relentless Bobcat offense. Dooly put seven goals on the board in the first half alone, adding three more in the second to hand the Vikings a 10-0 defeat.
Looking ahead, the Vikings have a lighter schedule this week with just one matchup on the calendar. Treutlen will host Georgia Military College this Friday, with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
