Vidalia’s basketball program continues to shine after a stellar regular season, with both the Indians and Lady Indians making a major impact on the Div. 1A Region 3 All-Region Teams.

Boys

Senior Rashad Brown has been named Region 3 Player of the Year, capping off a remarkable campaign in which he led the Indians with 18.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Brown’s leadership was instrumental in guiding Vidalia to its first region championship since 2022.

Sophomore Brycen Burns earned a spot on the All-Region First Team thanks to his sharp shooting and steady play, averaging 8 points per game and knocking down 30% of his attempts from three-point range.

Girls

On the girls’ side, the Lady Indians put on another impressive display, securing their second straight region championship. Three players were named to the All-Region First Team, led by freshman sensation Ze Rollins, who paced the squad with 10.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Senior Takaiyah Bacon joined Rollins on the first team, anchoring the defense with averages of 6.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game. Sophomore Tori Polke rounded out the trio, contributing 7.5 points and an impressive 4.1 steals per contest.

The Lady Indians’ depth was further recognized as seniors Mischa Wardlaw and Jordyn Goings were selected for the Second Team, while junior Za’miyah Hodges received Honorable Mention honors.

On the boys’ side, junior Bernard Brewton earned a Second Team nod for the Indians, while seniors Lyric McKennie, Jerry Roundtree, and Alton Boles were all named Honorable Mention.

Vidalia’s strong showing across both programs is a testament to the hard work, talent, and commitment of these student-athletes and their coaches.
