Wheeler County citizens can brush up on their computer skills for free in April, as the Wheeler County Public Library hosts free computer classes to help people learn more about computer basics, internet safety, email, and Zoom.

These classes will be structured as a 4-day training series, which organizers say will be perfect for senior adults, parents and grandparents helping with PowerSchool or Infinite Campus, or anyone wanting to brush up on their computer skills. On April 6, participants will learn about computer fundamentals, before reviewing internet safety protocol on April 7. On April 20, instructors will teach participants about email and how to best utilize the tool, and will conclude the series with instruction on the Zoom virtual meeting platform on April 21.

Fort Valley State University representatives will teach the courses as a part of the University’s cooperative extension. The classes will be held inside Fort Valley State University’s Mobile Technology Unit – a fully equipped classroom on wheels, equipped with a wheelchair lift for accessibility – from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on scheduled class days.

Limited seats are available for the program. For more information, or to reserve your spot, call (912) 568-7321.
