Despite a valiant effort, the Lady Barons were overpowered by the Wolves, finishing with a score of West Ga. 81 Brewton-Parker 46.
The game started promisingly for the Lady Barons as they established an early 8-0 lead, ignited by Ja'Ka'Yah Draughn's three-pointer, assisted by Kaziah Terrell. However, the Wolves rallied back significantly by the end of the first quarter, leading 18-10. The momentum continued to shift towards West Georgia through the second quarter, where Wolves' players like Jasmine Jones and Asia Donald tipped the scales with vital baskets, widening the gap to 45-17 by halftime.
In the third quarter, despite strong efforts from Lauren Pean and Chasity Degale, the Lady Barons could not close the distance as the Wolves extended their lead to 6437. The final quarter saw aggressive play from both sides, but the Lady Barons were unable to narrow the gap, ultimately falling 81-46.
Head Steve Edwards commented on the challenge, 'We always enjoy competing against Division I opponents. We were outmatched, but we fought to the end. We will have everyone healthy and ready to go for the start of conference play. We will be ready to go!' Looking ahead, the Lady Barons are set to face Life University at Gillis Gymnasium on January 6, 2026. The Lady Barons will kick off conference play as they start the second half of the season after the new year.
