Bread of Heaven Outreach Inc. recently received some extra help in providing food to local individuals experiencing hunger, as the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation awarded a $3,000 Nourishing our Neighbors grant.
Since 2022, Bread of Heaven Outreach has grown from a small community ministry into a vital food resource serving families in Toombs, Montgomery, and Treutlen Counties. Through the weekly drive-thru food distributions, the organization has been able to provide nutritious food to hundreds of families each month. The group is led by Executive Director Jennifer Stephens, and Board of Directors Elizabeth Wilkes, Beverly Foreman, Billy Carl Winn, Katherine Perry, Daniel Williams, Jan Williams, and Ted Walters.
“Great things are going our way when we put God at the center of everything we do. All we have to do is have a little bit of faith,” Stephens emphasized. “We are grateful to Food Lion Feeds for its generous $3,000 gift, which will help purchase nutritious food through our food bank partnerships, supplement donated items, and ensure families continue receiving complete, balanced meals. As the need continues to grow, this support will help us reach more neighbors with dignity, compassion, and hope.”
The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across Food Lion’s 10-state footprint. Established in 2001, the Foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding local neighbors in the communities it serves.
