PAYH Kicks Off Bike Ride With A Telethon

The Paul Anderson Youth Home (PAYH) has been preparing for their annual bike ride for several months, but recently kicked off the adventure by hosting a telethon to raise money for the several hundred miles journey and the Home.
Each year, Paul Anderson Youth Home residents bike over 500 miles along a challenging route to showcase their discipline, perseverance, and growth through a physical and personal milestone. This event is in honor of Home Founder and Olympic Gold Medalist Paul Anderson’s historic 1,200-mile bike ride from Vidalia, Georgia, to Omaha, Nebraska, to raise awareness and support for his mission to help troubled teenage boys. Today, the ride works to accomplish the same mission: raising funds for the Home, spreading awareness about its mission, and pursuing transformation through Christ.
From 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, Paul Anderson Youth Home bike ride participants and Youth Home residents and staff manned the phones, as family members, friends, and supporters called in to make donations and share words of encouragement with the bike riders. Video of the event was broadcast live on social media, as riders shared their excitement for the journey and gave insight onto their preparation for this big event.
The Paul Anderson Youth Home’s annual bike ride will begin on July 18 and will last until July 24, as the bike riders travel throughout the state of Georgia. For more information on the Home or to donate, visit payhbikeride. com, or call (912) 641- 0025.
