2026 GRPA Golf Championships In Blackshear

The state’s young golfers are tuning up their swings and finalizing their yardage books as the 2026 Georgia Recreation and Park Association Golf Championships approach. Set for Thursday, July 16, the tournament will bring competitors from across the region to the Okefenokee Country Club in Blackshear for a full day of competitive play.

The action gets underway early for the tournament's senior divisions. Both the 18-andunder and 15-and-under boys and girls groups are scheduled to tee off at 8:30 a.m. for their full 18-hole rounds. For these older competitors, Thursday represents a significant opportunity to validate their summer practice regimens and compete for statewide recognition on a challenging South Georgia course.

As the older flights make their way through the front nine, the younger divisions will begin their nine-hole tournaments. The 8-andunder boys and girls will hit the links starting at 9:00 a.m., bringing an earnest competitive energy to the morning. The schedule continues with the final waves of competitors teeing off shortly before noon, as the 13-and-under divisions are slated for 11:00 a.m., followed closely by the 11-and-under groups at 11:30 a.m.

Tournament Director Reece Turner is spearheading the event to provide a seamless competitive experience for the field. The championships lean heavily into the GRPA’s core mission of developing youth, building communities, and enhancing lives through athletics.
