Baird, Burns

Frank Douglas Baird and Maranda Thompson Baird of Vidalia annunce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Helen Kate Baird of Vidalia, to Joshua Thomas Burns of Milton, FL, son of David and Amy Burns of St. James, MO.

The bride-elect is the maternal granddaughter of Gloria D. Thompson of Vidalia and the late James O. Thompson, Sr. Her paternal grandparents are Jenette Freeman and Joe Freeman, Linne Baird of Houston, TX, and the late Frank Upton Baird.

Miss Baird is a 2019 graduate of Vidalia Heritage, a 2022 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelors in Psychology, and a 2024 graduate with a Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis. She is currently employed with Alinea Autism Services as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

The groom-elect is the maternal grandson of Judy Havemann of Muscatine, IO, and the late Thomas Havemann. His paternal grandparent is Shelly Burns of St. James, MO.

Mr. Burns is a 2017 graduate of St. James High School, a 2021 graduate of the University of Georgia in Marketing, and a 2023 graduate of Officer Candidate School (Navy). He is currently a Student Naval Aviator and is stationed in Milton, FL.

The wedding is planned for May 23, 2026, at the Brice House in Vidalia.
