Next Level: 6 Indians Ink College Commitments

It was a busy week for Vidalia High School athletics, with six studentathletes taking the next step in their academic and athletic careers. Signing a letter of intent is the culmination of years of hard work, early morning practices, and dedication to their respective sports. Here is a look at the Indians who recently made their college commitments official.
Caleb Beck
Senior tennis standout Caleb Beck is taking his talents to Truett Mc-Connell University in Cleveland, Georgia. Head coach Wade McLeod praised Beck's impact on the program.
“I'm so excited about Caleb. He is a quality tennis player,' McLeod said. 'We went over his career stats today, 47 wins in his career, 14 and 5 this season. We haven't seen a player like that in a number of years. He's going to do great at Truett McConnell. Just a quality young man, just a real joy to be able to coach him.”
Beck is eager for the collegiate challenge. “I'm ready to get some new teammates, get some people who can push me. Super excited about it,' Beck said. 'I want to thank the athletic director. I want to thank my coach. I couldn't ask for a better coach and teammates. It’s a smaller college in the mountains and I like that.”
Deidra Boston
Deidra Boston made local history by signing to play softball for Georgia Southern University at East Georgia. She joins the program as part of its first-ever recruiting class following a recent athletic merger. It was a proud, full-circle moment for the Boston family.
Her mother, Ashley Boston, set the standard years ago as the very first student-athlete from Vidalia to sign a collegiate softball scholarship, making this signing a special continuation of a family legacy.
Austin Mosley
The Vidalia golf program will also be represented at Truett McConnell University, with Austin Mosley signing his letter of intent to continue his career on the links. Mosley found a natural fit with the program during the recruiting process.
'The coach and I just clicked,' Mosley said. 'He seems like a really good guy and I just felt like I fit. I want to thank my teammates, coaches, and of course my family.'
Mischa Wardlaw

'I am very excited to play at the next level,' Wardlaw said. 'I could not have done this without God, my family, my coaches and my teammates. I love that I am going to be close to home as well.'
