The library will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. Kids can learn more about engineering during a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) activity from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26.

On Wednesday, May 27, adults and kids may meet for Coffee and Coloring and Legos at 10:30 a.m., the Summer Reading Program will kick off later from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. with fun activities and games, and the Montgomery County 4-H Club will host Farm Time Bingo at 4 p.m.

Patrons can bond with each other and work to create masterpieces during the Paint and Pass event at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 28.

Families can come compete against one another in card games during the Family Card Game Day event at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30.

All programs are open to the public and free to attend. Montgomery County Public Library Manager Kelly Stephens emphasized that the library will not be like the stereotypical silent areas because more programming for kids means that more noise will fill the library.

The library is located at 215 South Railroad Avenue in Mount Vernon, and is open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. The library is closed on Friday and Sunday. For more information, call (912) 583-2780.
