The City of Lyons celebrated the City’s municipal clerks’ hard work and dedication with an official proclamation during the Lyons City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 5.

This proclamation came in honor of Municipal Clerks Week, which was celebrated throughout the state last week. The week is announced annually by the Governor, who encourages cities and citizens to show appreciation for the work done by municipal clerks and the role that they play in society.

Lyons recognized longtime City Clerk Lynn Rowland and Assistant City Clerk Chaquandra Hudson for their professionalism, leadership, and public servanthood, which Mayor Willis NeSmith Jr. stated, “has shaped and will continue to shape the City of Lyons and has inspired all who interact with those who represent it.”

“Our clerks are truly the backbone of our daily operations, and we are incredibly grateful for the hard work and dedication they show each day. They help keep our offices organized, efficient, and running smoothly, often without seeking recognition for all they do behind the scenes. It was an honor to take a moment to recognize and thank them for their service and commitment to our city,” he emphasized.

The ladies were presented with an official proclamation from the mayor and flowers to emphasize the City and Council’s appreciation.
