KEEPING IT CLEAN IN VIDALIA …. KEEPING IT CLEAN IN VIDALIA ….

KEEPING IT CLEAN IN VIDALIA — The Keep it Clean Vidalia project is making major progress in cleaning up litter in the city. This week the committee purchased two banners, and Will Ledford of Altamaha EMC hung them on trailers provided by Old Dominion freight lines to be prominently displayed on HWY 280 as a reminder to the public to Keep it Clean. On Saturday, 55 volunteers picked up litter on North Main Street from McIntosh all the way to Hwy 292. The group gathered debris on one block in Meadowbrook, and on Lively, Grand and Washington streets. Washington Street yielded 3 bags of garbage alone and the total clean up for Saturday's efforts was 74 bags of garbage taken off the streets. If you would like to volunteer and be a part of this worthy effort to keep our city clean, contact Howard Holman at 912.293.1199 or Garrett Wilcox at 912.585.7886.
