It was a proud week in Lyons as five Toombs County High School student- athletes put pen to paper, securing their futures in collegiate athletics. Years of early mornings, grueling practices, and unwavering dedication culminated in a special signing period for the Bulldogs, with athletes moving on to compete in volleyball, wrestling, and golf.

Alivia Patrick

Alivia Patrick, a senior anchor for the Bulldogs' volleyball squad, signed to play for Brewton- Parker Christian University. Patrick was a critical defensive presence at the net, leading Toombs County with six total blocks during her senior campaign.

Across 50 sets, she tallied 66 kills, ranking 17th on the 1A Area 3 leaderboard. She also contributed heavily in the backcourt and service game, logging 74 digs and 26 aces to round out a stellar 2025-2026 season.

Tyson Brantley

Tyson Brantley is taking his talents to the mat in Lakeland, Florida, after signing to wrestle at Southeastern University. The MatDawg capped off his high school career with a dominant senior season, compiling a 41-10 overall record packed with 32 pins and a pair of technical falls.

Brantley battled his way to a third-place finish at the GHSA State Championships in the 150-1A division, improving on his fourth-place finish as a junior. His senior campaign also featured a tournament title at the Michael Rhodes Memorial and runner-up honors at the Battle at the Bay, the Gauntlet in Gray, and his sectional and area tournaments.

Lucas Coley

Joining the collegiate wrestling ranks at Brewton- Parker Christian University is Lucas Coley, who leaves behind a remarkable legacy at Toombs County. Coley built a staggering 159-28 career record, including a near-perfect 51-3 run his senior year competing in the 175 and 190-pound weight classes. He was a bonus-point machine with a 96 percent bonus win rate. Coley’s dominance was on full display at the Michael Rhodes Memorial, where he spent just over five minutes total on the mat to claim first place, and at the Battle at the Bay, where he cruised to gold with four consecutive technical falls.

Jasmine Villegas

Jasmine Villegas officially signed to wrestle for Life University after an exceptional senior campaign at 110 pounds. Villegas proved her mettle by capturing the Area Championship with a gritty victory over a defending State Champion.

Her momentum carried deep into the postseason, allowing her to finish the 2025-2026 season with an outstanding 40-2 overall record. She closes the book on her high school career proudly as the GHSA Girls State Runner-Up.

Drew Woodruff

Drew Woodruff will continue his golf career at Brewton-Parker Christian University after cementing his name in the Bulldogs' history books. Woodruff was a model of consistency, leading Toombs County to a state tournament appearance his junior year after carding a 79 at the Area Championship.

He reached a massive milestone during the spring 2026 season at Sunset Country Club, firing a 1-under par 71 to record the very first under- par tournament round in school history. Woodruff followed that historic performance with a 79 on the second day to once again pace his squad.
