Vidalia 10U Girls Win In Lyons

As part of the 62nd Annual Lyons Youth Tournament, the 10U girls played last week at Partin Park with Vidalia coming away with as the Tournament Champions. Lyons took third place in the tournament.

VRD vs. Glennville

Vidalia kicked off the tournament against Glennville. VRD cruised to a run rule victory. Vidalia took the win over Glennville, 15- 5.

VRD vs. Emanuel Co.

Up next for Vidalia was Emanuel County. Vidalia again came away with a run rule win as they defeated Emanuel, 14- 4.

LRD vs. Reidsville

Lyons won their first game of the tournament as they rolled over Reidsville. Lyons took the win, 17-6, moving them into the semifinals of the winners’ bracket against rival Vidalia.

VRD vs. LRD

It was a battle between the two local teams for a shot at the Championship. Vidalia came away as the winner as they beat Lyons by just one run, 10-9. LRD vs. Emanuel Co.

That dropped Lyons into the losers’ bracket to face off with Emanuel County, with a rematch with Vidalia in the Championship on the line. Lyons gave it their all, but Emanuel was too much as Lyons fell, 20-10.

VRD vs. Emanuel Championship Vidalia cruised to a win in the Championship over Emanuel County. VRD came away with the win, 11-3, to bring home the Championship.

Both Vidala and Lyons took part in the GRPA District 1 Tournament this week in Effingham County. The Championship Game was on Tuesday after presstime.
